Hurricane Delta loses strength, but forecast to reintensify into a Category 4 storm

Hurricane Delta continued to lose strength Wednesday morning with its maximum sustained winds falling to 100 mph as the Category 2 storm enters the Gulf of Mexico where it is forecast to reintensify into a major hurricane before making landfall along the United States Gulf Coast, according to the National Hurricane Center’s 2 p.m. update.
