Lakewood Ranch Invitational

Team scores: 1. Lithia Newsome (LN), 281; 2. Tampa Plant (TP),282; 3. Circle Christian (CC), 285; 8. Spruce Creek (SC), 294

Buzz: Eugene Hong and Evan Sun each shot 3-under 69 for third place for Circle Christian.

 

Boys Cross country

 

FLrunners.com Invitational at Chain of Lake Parks, Titusville

Buzz: Chas Cook finished 10th (16:03.0) to lead Trinity Prep to the team title in the Race of Champions at the FLrunners.com Invitational. The Saints finished with a team low score of 76. Lyman was the only other team in top 10 with 304 points. Joshua Jacques placed 3rd for the Greyhounds (15:33.5). Teammate Jordan Armstrong was 9th (16:01.0). Olympia won the Boys Invitational race team title with 81 points. West Orange was third with 156. Tyson Occenat led Olympia with a 4th place finish (16:51.4). Jonathan Kash placed 5th for West Orange (17:14.1)

 

Overbay-Monte Carlo Invitational at Winter Springs

Buzz: Winter Springs won the team competition with 46 points. Hagerty posted a second place finish with 60. Oviedo came in third with 65. Oviedo's Andrew Stivers won the individual competition with a time of 16:38.13, Jan Figeueroa of Lake Howell placed in second with a time of 16:38.61. Winter Springs' Joel Santiago finished in third with 16:39.47.

 

Girls cross country

 

FLrunners.com Invitational at Chain of Lake Parks, Titusville

Buzz: Winter Park placed 8th with a team total of 271 points in the Race of Champions. Circle Christian was 9th with 272. Mount Dora Christian's Rebecca Clark was the only area runner in the top 10, taking 6th (18:30.3). Trinity Prep won the Girls Invitational team title with 172 points. DeLand Sara Mott placed 7th in the individual race (20:07.0) and Lyman's Shannon Grace was 10th (20:17.5).

 

Overbay-Monte Carlo Invitational at Winter Springs

Buzz: Hagery won the team competition with 48 points. Winter Springs finished in second with 58. Orlando University posted a third place finish with 91. Nicolette Worrell of Hagerty won the invidual competition with a time of 19:44.55. Winter Springs' Elizabeth Cobb placed second with a time of 20:18.94. Naomi Simluis of Oak Ridge posted a third place finish at 20:29.32

Team scores: 1. Apopka, 3,362; 2. Miami Christian, 3,259; 3. Martin County, 3,009; 4. Brooks DeBartolo, 2,998; 5. University, 2,911; 6. Oviedo, 2,836; 7. Sebring, 2,791; 8. Jesuit, 2,747; 9. Lake Wales, 2,731; 10. South Fork, 2.654.

Buzz: Pete Vergos bowled a 527 series to pace Apopka (8-0). Gage Stelling finished with a 503 series.
